A free virtual cycling game where riders race each other on smart trainers. I led the backend development of its web event and registration portal and built the race systems behind it, shipped in time for the $1M MyWhoosh Championship (2023).
The backend behind a race, from setting it up to publishing the results.
Event days, laps, virtual gates, routes and rewards, so race control can build any race format, up to a 7-stage championship.
An extensible category data model, Cat 1 to 6, with weighting, so riders race others at their level.
A pre-verification and adversarial validation pipeline: age gating, upload verification and real-time coupling with gameplay.
The events page, event detail page and registration page riders use to find and enter races.
Jersey library and sponsor branding, pacing bots, wind effect and fireworks, managed from admin tools.
FIT and GPX ride-file uploads and the event result pages, closing the loop after each race.
After I left, MyWhoosh became the exclusive platform for the UCI Cycling Esports World Championships (2024 to 2026), MyWhoosh's own achievement. Championship images are official MyWhoosh 2023 material.
